AVID's Soccer Equipment Review (ASER for short) provides objective testing of soccer gear and related products, including the top boots, uniforms, balls, coaching equipment, fitness gear and soccer lifestyle products. The yearly awards reflect this commitment to finding really great soccer gear, awarding winners in the categories of Innovative Product of the Year, Best Kit, Best Ball, Best Boot and Coolest Lifestyle Product.

As a company that focuses its attention on making great football boots, winning the Best Boot award is obviously great news for Concave. It's great to hear that serious footballers really like what we're doing.

However, as newcomers to the industry and knowing that the Concave PT+ was up against two established industry stalwarts – the adidas Predator X and Puma v1.10 – the  selection is all the more satisfying .

Turns out that both the product testers at ASER and the voting public affirmed that the game-changing technology of the Concave boot is so unique it also deserves recognition as the Innovative Product of the Year.

According to AVID Soccer, their testers found that the concave element on top of the boot, which creates a 4-times larger sweet spot translating into 15% greater power and 30% improved accuracy, does "cradle the ball and ensures a cleaner strike and more direct power transfer".

They also found the boots provide "confidence and accuracy to less skilled feet".

And as for the concave element potentially minimizing the bend on the ball, to quote AVID Soccer: "One of our top testers felt the sides of the boot were just as good as anything else he played in. In fact, the PT+ became his favorite boots."

Sounds good to us.
